Alnwick EXPO 28th September 2024

It was a gloriously sunny Saturday at the recent Alnwick Gardens Expo Event where Dee our Service Coach attended to promote Pharmacy First. The event was set up to develop the existing sense of pride in the community and ensure accessibility for small business, charitable enterprising and voluntary groups.  With visitor numbers high on the day Dee and the Community Pharmacists who joined her promoted the Pharmacy First Service to hundreds of its visitors.

Following the opening of the event by the Mayor of Alnwick and the Deputy Lord Lieutenant the advertising and free Blood Pressure checks generated interest amongst all cohorts especially with the parents of small children who were overjoyed to hear they no longer needed to have that sinking feeling when their little one woke up with sore ears or sore throat for example of having to sit in the long phone queues for a GP appointment which did not exist! The message was repeated throughout the day to ensure it was fully understood and everyone they spoke to was incredibly thankful and excited to utilise the service and spread the word in their Communities.

Hopefully with the ripple effect and the giveaway promotional information from the day will help support our Community Pharmacists with Walk In patients.

Dee and the Pharmacy First stall will be at the upcoming AGM on the 23rd October as all the resources were sourced from updated Pharmacy First toolkit that we have created with the NENC ICB Communication team.  Click here to book your place.
